Oh what do you do in the Summer time?

A few weeks ago Abby started riding her bike. It was actually the same weekend as Ali. We thought that was fun not knowing and later finding out. Guess great minds think alike. Isn't it so fun to see kids accomplish something and see how much happiness and satisfaction it bring them. She thinks she's pretty darn cool!!

Abby's school bus ride.
Every morning Abby watching the school buses has they take the kids to school. So when her teacher told her that the were going to ride the bus in preparation for kindergarten she was ecstatic. I think she liked it and the driver is a really neat lady.

Abby's last Baseball game!
After the game we all went to the Pizza Factory for party and to receive their trophy's. The kids were so excited.
Abby and her cute little trophy.
This was the last time she was up to bat. I have tried all season to capture her hitting the ball and I finally got it on her last hit!! ..... in every picture of her batting she never follows the ball all the way to bat, it's amazing she is such a good hitter!! Go Abby we sure love you. You're an awesome base ball player.Posted by Gaylene at 3:55 PM 1 comments
High on a mountain top.....
Lance hiked to the rock house that we had posted about earlier. It looks awesome. He went and check out the trail before we took Abby up there. Not sure if Abby could make it, it's pretty tough. Lance took some good pictures. It's amazing how much work people put into it, it's not like you can drive to it so all supplies they would have had to pack up there. Pretty impressive.
Lance said he was thinking of me when he took this picture through the window. LOL I guess I'm rubbin' off on him.On the way back he came across a rattle snake............!!! YIKES>> He's a crazy man and started poking it with a stick so he could get this cool picture. I have to say I am impressed with it but I think I would have pee'd my pants!!
So now to the best part. He got home and showed me the pictures and I told him we should ask our 85 year old neighbor about this rock house. So we printed a picture of it and walked over to his house. He started to giggle and said, oh boy, you guys found the nudest colonie!!! Yep, that's right I guess years back the nudest needed to get away so they built it. WOW all I have to say is.... that's a lot of rock to move in the nude!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Memorial Day Hike
Monday we went for a hike and found an awesome trail, from what we could see there is a cabin on the mountain in the back of us, we couldn't see it to well but it looked as if it were an old miners cabin. We are going to get our packs ready and check it out in the next couple weekends. Abby is getting to be a pretty good hiker. Oh course Dad had magic water that made her really tough and Mama found " flower power" pretty wild flowers. It's amazing, she would hold them and start running up the hill. What ever works.... right?
We had a dutch oven cook up and I was in charge of dessert and bread and the bread was a total flop. I have never messed up bread that bad before!! The peach cobblers was pretty good, but I need some more practice. Note to self..... DON"T TRY NEW RECIPES WHEN YOU REALLY NEED THEM TO WORK!!

Memorial Day Weekend
We made it through Memorial weekend. Nick left for Afghanistan last Monday, it's a very humbling experience to remember those that have fought for our freedom with one of our own heading to war. Words can not express how thankful I am for our fore fathers who have made it possible for us to live as we do. I hope and pray that our Marine makes it home safe, I pray that he know how much we love him here at home and how proud we are of him for his willingness to service our country and preserve our freedoms.
With our flag flying high we headed to Bishop for their Mule Days celebration. We went to the parade which I LOVE, it's all horse, mules, donkeys and good ole cowboys and cowgirls. What better way to celebrate Memorial Day!!
These are my absolute favorite.... The Budweiser Clydesdale's. Aren't they beautiful.. I told Lance I wanted a Clydesdale and he his response was.... "do you know how much it takes to feed one of those?"...... LOL I can dream can't I?
